The ambitious three-day international event, Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet (GRAM)-2026, scheduled to be held from May 23 to 25 with the aim of projecting Rajasthan as a leading hub for agricultural innovation and investment, has been postponed.

An official release issued to announce the government’s decision attributed the deferment to “unavoidable circumstances”.

However, official sources said the programme was postponed in view of the seven-point austerity advisory issued by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to conserve energy and fiscal resources and prevent depletion of the country’s foreign exchange reserves.

While taking the decision, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said, “This is in line with Prime Minister Modi’s message on fuel conservation and energy restraint to prevent depletion of foreign exchange reserves.”

GRAM-2026 was envisioned as a major platform to connect Rajasthan’s agriculture sector with global investment and innovation. The event was expected to play an important role in showcasing the state’s strengths and engaging stakeholders from across India and abroad.

According to officials, the event was to feature technical sessions, workshops, exhibitions, smart farm and livestock showcases, Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business-to-Government (B2G) meetings, as well as dedicated investment dialogues.

Officials said more than 75,000 farmers from across Rajasthan, over 250 exhibitors, and more than 100 companies from India and abroad were expected to participate in the event, which was being developed as a premier international platform bringing together investors, entrepreneurs, innovators and policymakers from the agriculture sector.

Delegations from South Asia, Europe, Australia, and North and South America were also expected to attend the event.
